This imitation Saturn hood had the latch striker break away. This seems to be a somewhat common occurrence with these type hoods. What a surprise when the hood flys open while driving. Does  this replacement part compromise safety?

It must have been very difficult to negotiate lane changes while this part was staring you in the face. Also look at all the additional damage that was created.
